The Purbeck House Hotel is a family run hotel whose staff are experienced in providing a friendly, personal approach to your enquiries and wedding day.

Formerly a convent, the hotel is set in large grounds overlooking Swanage Bay providing a choice of beautiful backdrops for your photographs. We are the first hotel premises in the Isle of Purbeck to hold a Civil Marriage Ceremony Licence, held now for three years and recently renewed for a further three.

We have three rooms which are specially licensed: the Purbeck Room, the Garden Conservatory and the Thomas Hardy Restaurant.

The Purbeck Room, with its timber clad walls, was formerly the Convent Chapel and provides a unique venue for your wedding ceremony. The room can accommodate up to 90 guests (seated) for a marriage service, or 70 guests for a seated reception meal.

The Garden Conservatory, overlooking the main drive and extensive gardens, accommodates up to 130 guests (seated) for both Civil Marriage Ceremonies and wedding reception meals.

Both restaurants have a wide range of menu options to cater for all tastes.
