THE BADGER RETURNS
20/01/2017
I continued relaying the new pathways and adjusting the sleepers positioning for the edging. I managed to have a fire to burn all the old wood without upsetting the neighbours. The weather wasn’t quite warm enough for the bees to be very active but a good crop of daffodils are beginning to bloom. I unfortunately lost several days of digging due to too much rain but have had plenty of robins and blackbirds as companions while digging. They eat all the grubs and worms that I unearth and help me to prepare the vegetable beds for sowing.
We’re also still having badger problems, all the rocks and stones I filled their hole with, they cleaned them out and piled them up on the other side of the fence. I’m thinking of putting some pepper down into their tunnels. One doesn’t understand the problems we gardeners have!
